In the Garden of Taramata

In the Garden of Taramata

monotype with chine collé, 9"x12"

Tara is the name of the Goddess Mother Earth, known from India to Ireland. An ancient festival held annually in Athens was named after her, Taramata (Mother Tara). The festival was nicknamed “the Rioting” because of it’s wild customs. In Buddhist and Hindu traditions she embodies many of the qualities of the feminine principle. She engenders, nourishes, smiles at the vitality of creation, and has sympathy for all beings as a mother does for her children.

This is simply beautiful. I love the royal purple and blues in it. This is one of those, "oh, wow" pieces that you just keep looking at.
Beautiful.

I love all your art. Particularly these last pieces in my favorite colors. I can't wait to see what you do next. It's all very inspiring. It makes me want to get to my studio and do something, unfortunately it will have to wait. Our money-making job has been non-stop lately. I'll be visiting often.
