The weather here sure has been wild lately! Wind and rain and hail and SNOW! Spring is traditionally kite flying weather. Windy weather inspired this monotype with chine collé.

Sunshowers

Sun Showers

Here in the Pacific Northwest we get a lot of rain mixed with sun at this time of year. The leaves are turning brilliant golds and scarlets. This piece, done quite awhile ago, reminds me of today.
This is a monotype print with chine collé elements added as the print was pulled. A note card with this image can be purchased here.

Summer Pastime

Hello, I've been away from my blog for quite awhile and I'm sorry I missed you. Life has been full of challenging events and I have been busy with things other than art work. I have had time to browse many other artists' blogs and I'm amazed at their commitment to post so often. Especially those that have of a "painting a day" or "collage a day" to post, I am in awe of all you prolific artists out there.

Here is a sampling of my summer garden. It has been a great pleasure to sit among these beauties.

Collage Paintings

These two collages were created on my own cradled board panels. I used acrylic paint for the backgrounds and to color some of the delicate, transparent papers. Some of the collage elements are pieces of recycled monotype prints, marbled paper, and a piece from a painting. Both measure 10 in. by 10 in.
